Snail Rota
Thank you so much for offering to look after Patrick and Spud for the weekend or holidays. Below is a table showing you when your child will be bringing home Patrick and Spud. Please let me know if you are unable to look after them on your date and I shall swap them around.
Once this rota has finished there are only 4 more weekends and the summer holidays left. If your child would like to look after Patrick and Spud for any of those please let me know. Thank you.
How to Look After Patrick and Spud
Patrick and Spud are very easy to look after. They liked to be kept in temperatures around 20-25’C. Do not worry if Patrick and Spud do not move too much during the day as they are nocturnal animals, but kept at the right temperature they will be active.
Patrick and Spud eat a variety of things. They have tried lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, apples, banana, peppers, grapes, peach, plums, nectarines and cabbage. You are more than welcome to try different foods to see if Patrick and Spud like them. If they have not eaten the food 1 day after being put in there please remove it and put some fresh food in. They have a cuttlefish in the tank for calcium in their diet, which makes their shell stronger.
In their tank there is a pot to put a small amount of water in. Patrick and Spud also liked to be sprayed with a bit of water on their shells once a day.
Patrick and Spud have been a bit active recently, so if you see white/yellow balls they are snail eggs. Please can you remove them from the tank and bin them.
Thank you very much again for offering to look after Patrick and Spud and I hope you and your child have a fantastic time with them.
P.E. Kit
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Please make sure you child has their P.E. kit in school every day. We have P.E. on a Monday, but there are opportunities for them to carry out Physical Education at other times during the week.
The items your child should have in their P.E. kits are:
- A pair of named shorts
- Named tracksuit bottoms
- A named T-shirt
- A named Tracksuit top
- Named trainers that fit and your child can put on themselves
- A pair of named P.E. socks
- Named plimsolls for when we are inside
We shall be going outside for P.E. even if it is drizzling, so it is essential your child has these items in school.
If your child has long hair please make sure they have their hair tied back all the time or that there is a hair bobble in their bag which they can tie their hair back with.
It is also essential that your child brings their named water bottle to school every day which they will also need for P.E.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
Thank you
Miss Lydia Newington
