Little Warblers Pre-school
Little Warblers Pre-school is located on the site of Great Wilbraham Primary School, serving the villages of Great Wilbraham, Little Wilbraham and Six Mile Bottom, with places also offered to children from other villages on a first come first served basis.
Pre-school currently offers five sessions a week, Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 12:00 noon, and accepts children from the age of 2½ until school age. We appreciate that all children are individuals and so the introduction to Pre-school will take place at a pace that suits the child and parent/carer. Parents can enrol their child for as many sessions per week as they wish and can change the number of sessions at any time with prior arrangement of the Pre-school Leader, subject to availability. In the case that all the sessions are full, a waiting list will operate.
Our current fees are £7.50 per session per child. Nursery Education Funding is available for all children from the beginning of the first term following their third birthday. This funding covers all 3 hours of the pre-school session, and therefore there is nothing to pay for funded children.
When the children finish at Pre-school, most of them transfer to Great Wilbraham Primary School. We have excellent arrangements with the school, who allow us to use their hall for activities and arrange for the children to visit the school in the summer term to ensure that the transition is as easy as possible.
Pre-school is run by a Playgroup Leader with a Level 3 qualification and two other members of staff. Our maximum adult:child ratio is one adult to every eight children (this is usually less) with a minimum of two adults always present. In times of need, such as staff absence we do ask for parent help in order that Pre-school can run.
Pre-school is managed by a Committee, which consists currently of a Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and 7 other members, and is open to all parents/carers to join.
Each half term a newsletter is issued by the Pre-school Leader and Committee which keeps parents/carers up to date with events and activities of Pre-school.
Pre-school aims to provide a secure and stimulating environment where children can develop social and pre-school learning skills. We encourage children to become independent, confident individuals who relate well to other children and adults.
If you have any questions, or would like to enrol your child, please do not hesitate to contact us.
